Children Hear Voices

Many Children Hear Voices

Recently, there was a study done by Agna A. Bartels-Velthuis of University Medical Center Groningen in The Netherlands about children who heard voices. Even though they refer to these voices as "auditory vocal hallucinations," the conclusion was that most children aren't bothered by them. To read the full article in Reuters, go to: Many Children Hear Voices; most aren't bothered.

However, this study did not seem to take into account the fact that children are naturally gifted to hear from deceased relatives or other types of spirits. A very important factor that has to be included and considered in any study when a child is hearing voices. If the child is actually hearing spirits talking to them, then this experience would not be a hallucination. Many times children can point to a family photo of a great, great uncle (who they have never met) for instance, and identify the person who is talking to them. This would be an actual spiritual contact.

As a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and a Facilitator of Spiritual Bereavement Recovery, I have found that afterlife spiritual contacts from deceased loved ones and other spirits is a common reason for children to be hearing voices. Children are naturally gifted in this regard. As time goes on this gift may leave.

I have written a book about this phenomenon called HEAVEN TALKS TO CHILDREN--Afterlife Contacts, Spiritual Gifts, and Loving Messages (Citadel Press - August 2010). There are 108 testimonials in my book of children hearing from the "dead."

Sometimes spirits who are malevolent also will come through to children. These are the spirits who frighten and bother children. In my book HEAVEN TALKS TO CHILDREN , I give detailed instructions for parents to tell their children to ask for God's holy protection from these types of spirits. Doing this will help tremendously and will empower children. Those bothersome spirits will actually leave if the child asks for God's protection.

Children are so open to the "other side" and unseen dimensions that most adults are not usually capable of tapping into. That is why many adults think that children are talking to imaginary friends, when, in fact, the children often times are actually talking to spirits.
